Clarke Prep to hold Open House
Area Calendar Clarke Prep to hold Open House

Clarke Prepatory School will hold a parent’s open house on Thursday, September 4 from 3 to 7 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher and pick up progress reports. Refreshments will be served in the cafeteria.

THS to hold programs on "Making High School Count"

During the year Thomasville High School will have several guest presenters who will talk to different grades at the high school. Specific topics will be "What to expect in high school"- 9th grade; Choosing the right career/college" - 11th grade and "What to expect in college" - 12th grade. Students will get information, website information, etc. that will assist them in making the right choices at the high school level. The first program will be the 9th grade program. It will be held September 5 at 8:00 a.m. in the high school gym. Parents are encouraged to attend if they have the opportunity.

Bank of Pine Hill to host special service

On September 11 at 8:30 a.m. the Bank of Pine Hill will host a service of rememberance of U.S. Patriot’s Day. Everyone is invited to join this special service to thank God for our freedom and give thanks to those who have given their lives for this cause.

Thomasville Infirmary Auxiliary to meet

The Thomasville Infirmary Auxiliary will meet Tuesday, September 16 at 10 a.m. in the hospital conference room. All members are urged to attend and anyone interested in joining the Auxiliary is welcomed to attend. For further information please contact Laurelle Stoudenmire at 636-5265.

Ladies Community Bible Study

There will be a ladies community Bible study beginning Wednesday, September 17 at 8:30 a.m. at The Garden. This eight-week course, entitiled "Qualities of a Wise Woman" Applying God’s Word to your Life by Dean Crowe, will bless and challenge you as you dig deep into God’s word and discover yourself the precious Truths of being His wise woman. Laurelle Stoudenmire will be the Bible teacher.

Thomasville Public Library Storytime sign up announced

It’s time to sign your child up for Storytime at the Thomasville Public Library. Storytime will begin Thursday, September 18. Three year olds will meet from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday mornings, and four year olds will meet from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoons. Space is limited, so sign-up soon if you would like your child to participate in an hour of fun and reading.

"Legacy of Hank Williams" to be celebrated

A "Legacy of Hank Williams" will be celebrated at the Old Courthouse, on the Courthouse Square, in Monroeville, sponsored by the Monroe County Heritage Museum on September 18 at 7 p.m. Admission will be $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and children.

ASCC to present a Community Chorus performance

Alabama Southern Community College will present a community chorus performance entitiled A Night of Glorias featuring Glorias by Antonio Vivaldi and John Rutter on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Nettles Auditorium on the ASCC campus in Monroeville. Rehearsals begin on August 19 and will continue every Tuesday night thereafter from 5:30 until 7 p.m. in the Nettles Auditorium. Annual Peterman Station Arts & Crafts Festival planned

The 20th Annual Peterman Station Arts and Crafts Festival will be held Saturday, November 22. There will be approximately 150 booths and entertainment is planned for throughout the day. Down home food will be served. Booth sizes are 12’ x 12’ and rent for $45 without electricity and $50 with electricity. Peterman is located 6 miles north of Monroeville.

Legion To Meet

The local American Legion will be meeting on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Legion Home located off Kimbrell Street.
