Cases handled in circuit court last week

GROVE HILL - Only two cases were tried in a special criminal jury term of the Clarke County Circuit Court last week.

Warren Lamar Pearson was convicted of attempted murder and assault, second degree. Charges of reckless endangerment were nol prossed.

Linzey Calhoun was convicted of rape, second degree, rape, first degree and sodomy, first degree.

Cases that were pleaded or dismissed include:

Peter Altman, two counts unlawful distribution of controlled substance, one guilty plea, one dismissed, one year sentence, 14 year suspended sentence, five years probation.

Kellia Antoinette Belton, assault, second degree, guilty plea; assault, first degree, guilty plea; probation revocation, probation revoked, two year sentence, eight year suspended sentence, five years probation.

Derrick Bernard, two counts burglary, third degree, one guilty plea, one dismissed; three counts breaking and entering a vehicle, one guilty plea, two dismissed, 20 year sentence.

Marco Blake, unlawful distribution of controlled substance, , nol prossed.

Steven Shane Booth, DUI, remanded.

Reginald Lee, burglary, third degree, guilty plea, 10 year suspended sentence, five years probation.

George Ellis Dunigan Jr., reckless endangerment, guilty plea, one year suspended sentence, two years probation.

Dwight Harris, possession of controlled substance, dismissed.

Derrick Lewayne Jackson, breaking and entering a vehicle, dismissed; theft of property, third degree, nol prossed.

James R. Lolley, probation revocation, probation revoked.

Jorvelle Morris, two counts burglary, first degree, guilty pleas, two year sentence, 13 year suspended sentence, five years probation.

Grady Earl Williams, two counts sexual abuse, first degree, one count sexual abuse, first degree, dismissed.

Frederick Woods, five counts unlawful distribution of controlled substance, plead guilty to two counts and three counts dismissed.
