Day full of fun planned for downtown Thomasville all day Saturday
Various booths, arts and crafts, food, antiques and others, will line the streets throughout downtown. All proceeds from the Rambling Rose Festival go toward the restoration of the old Thomasville School for use as a Civic Center. The festival is held biannually on the first weekend of October. Fall-like weather makes this festival the ideal event for southwest Alabama.
The Rambling Rose Festival is scheduled for Oct. 2, in downtown Thomasville. Admission is free.
The day’s events begin with the Rambling Rose Charity 5K at 8 a.m.
The run begins at city hall and winds its way through downtown Thomasville.
Following the race at 9 a.m. is the Kid’s Parade.
Bikes, trikes, wagons and powerwheels will take to the street in celebration of this special day.
Arts and Crafts booths, food booths and antique dealers will line the streets of downtown. Carriage rides will be offered throughout the day.
A children’s activity area will be set up in the lot next to First United Security Bank.
Area talent will perform on two stages located on the streets.
Concluding the day’s events will be the Rose Festival Street Dance. The Connection Band will be featured performing popular music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
