‘A Musical Evening in Clarke County’

You’re invited to ‘A Musical Evening in Clarke County’ today Thursday, Jan. 27 at Sage Auditorium in Grove Hill at 7 p.m. The Mobile Symphony presents The Bay Area Strings in concert.

Sponsors are Thomasville Worthwhile Club, The Southern Magnolia Study Club of Grove Hill, The Community Study of Grove Hill, Junior Women’s League of Jackson, and Four Seasons Garden Club of Jackson.

Extraordinary Women of Color to meet

The Extraordinary Women of Color are going to meet Jan. 29 at the National Guard at 8 p.m. until. The admission will be $7. DJ is Big Pappa. Attire will be semi-formal. The special guest is the Casanovas of Dixons Mills. All proceeds will go toward our scholarship fund.

Historical society to

read old letters

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet Sunday, Jan. 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grove Hill Town Hall. “Old Letter” will be the topic of the meeting. Members are asked to bring an old letter of historical interest or having some connection with Clarke County that may be read at the meeting. Even if you do not have a letter to be read you are encouraged to attend the meeting.

The public in invited to attend.

VFW Post 5106 monthly meeting

The VFW Post 5106 and its Ladies Auxiliary will have their regular monthly meeting Monday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. The ladies urge all their members and the VFW members to attend this meeting.

Freedom Salute Program

The 1166th Military Police Company is conducting a ceremony to honor all the members that served in Iraq. The ceremony will be in Greensboro at the armory on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 9 a.m.

Pine Hill High School Reunion

The Class of 1956 from Pine Hill High School will reunite on May 21 in the Nutrition Center in Pine Hill at 10 a.m.
