History book now available Copies of A Pictorial History: Clarke County, Alabama, a new book of historic photographs, have arrived and are available at The Thomasville Times office. Those who purchased the book at the special prepublication price and opted to pick them up may do so. If you asked for your book to be mailed, look for it to arrive soon. The 128-page book contains over 300 photos and sells for $39.95.
Cozy Quilters Club meets every month The Cozy Quilters Club meets every first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Nutrition Center. There are classes on a variety of crafts, such as needle tatting, silk ribbon, embroidery, frayed edge pillow making and quilting. There are also all day project classes that meet occasionally on Saturdays. Bank of Pine Hill to hold Tree of Lights dedication The Bank of Pine Hill 14th Annual Cancer Society Love Lights a Tree ceremony will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. All ornaments should be on the tree by this time. Once again, you may place an ornament on this tree in honor or in memory of someone special to you for a $5 minimum donation to the American Cancer Society.
Benefit for Jereme Wilroy is Dec. 10 A benefit singing for Jereme Wilroy will be held Saturday, Dec. 10. The event will be held in the Thomasville Elementary School Gym. Anyone interested in participating contact BJ Etheridge at 334-637-0951 after 5 p.m. The benefit will begin at 4:30 p.m. and a cake auction will be held at 6 p.m.
Dixons Mills Christmas Parade is Dec. 10 The Dixons Mills Christmas Parade is Saturday, Dec. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade is sponsored by Splendid Harmony Social and Savings Club and the Dixons Mills Volunteer Fire Department.
Christmas musical at JHS auditorium Everyone is invited to attend a special musical celebration titled, “The Spirit of Christmas in the Pine City” on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Jackson High School McCorquodale Auditorium. The musical will include several community children’s choirs, Radiance, the youth girl’s choir along with the choir and cast of 75 from the First Baptist Church of Jackson. The celebration begins at 6 p.m. with samplings of homemade desserts of the season, served free of charge. The performance will begin at 7 p.m. Child care will be provided for ages birth through three years old. There will be special seating for senior adults and the handicapped. Christmas Tea to be held in Camden There will be a Christmas Tea Dec. 11 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Wilcox Central High School in Camden. It is sponsored by the Wilcox County Education Retirees.
