Southwest Alabama Chamber plans firework display The Southwest Alabama Chamber of Commerce is planning for the annual Fourth of July firework display. This community project, filled with family-oriented fun, requires an investment of $10,000. Please make a pledge to help now. Your donation is tax deductible. Support group for caregivers being formed A support group for caregivers of Alzheimer's victims is in the process of being formed. T'ville Recycling Center to relocate To all recycling consumers, Thomasville Recycling Center will not be able to pick up the following days March 27 through March 31. The center will be relocating. Cozy Quilters meets first and third Tuesday The Cozy Quilters Club meets every first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Nutrition Center. Members that have quilted help teach others. Everyone shares books, patterns and knowledge. Area quilt shows are attented when possible. Various charity projects are implemented with much enthusiasm. CCERA to meet today The CCERA will meet March 16 at 11:45 a.m. at New Faith Baptist Church in Coffeeville. The meal is being catered and the cost per person is $7. The program is health centered and will be presented by the Coffeeville Medical Clinic.
T'ville Diamond Club to meet The Thomasville Diamond Club will meet Thursday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomasville Middle School cafeteria. Any Diamond Club member or anyone interested in becoming a Diamond Club member is urged to attend.
Western Cabaret is March 18 The Annual Western Cabaret, hosted by the Ladies of Distinction Social Organization, will be held Saturday, March 18 at JASS Activity Center in Sweet Water from 8 p.m. until with D.J. Big Poppa. Tickets are $7 for singles and $10 for couples. Admission at the door is $10 per person.
Walk-a-thon is Saturday A Walk-a-thon, sponsored by William Price Chapel 725 Order of Eastern Star, will be held March 18 at 8:30 a.m. from Morvin to Putnam. Fish plates will be sold from Michelle Williams Shop. Each plate will contain fish, cole slaw, hushpuppies, cake, and a drink or tea. Prices for the fish plates are $5.50.
Auxiliary to hold Jewelry Sale The Southwest Alabama Medical Center Auxiliary will be having a Jewelry Sale by Phantasia's on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, March 28 from 7 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the new lobby of the Thomasville Nursing Home. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Proceeds to benefit Southwest Alabama Medical Center.
Fish fry will be held April 1 There will be a fish fry April 1 at the South Marengo Squad Hall in Coxheath, AL Hwy. 10 mile marker 36. The plates will be $7. For more information call 334-994-4626 or 994-4130. The fish fry will benefit the South Marengo Fire and Rescue Squad.
