Say what you want about politicians, but for the second year in a row, Thomasville has managed to get some of the state's most powerful ones to come here and sing our praises.
Once again, Gov. Bob Riley, Sen. Jeff Sessions and Cong. Joe Bonner made their way to Thomasville for the second rural national supplier conference.
For the second year in a row, they sang Thomasville's praises.
Well, you just can't buy that kind of publicity. And it puts Thomasville on the minds of the people uniquely suited to help this town now and in the future, assuming they get re-elected.
Very few small towns can boast that accomplishment.
This week, Thomasville was also featured in the magazine Business Alabama, with chamber of commerce director and economic developer Debra Fox on the cover and Mayor Sheldon Day featured inside.
Once again, the people who promote our fair city will bring their message of opportunity to a larger audience, through the magazine's features.
Will Thomasville become the next Huntsville as some say? It's doubtful, and certainly not any time soon, but it is certain that more and more people are hearing and reading the Thomasville story, and that can only be good for this growing little community.
