THS Band News
Greetings from the Thomasville Band Room!
As this Friday's kick-off game against Sweet Water draws nearer, the Thomasville High School Marching Band is preparing more than ever to make sure that they deliver an outstanding performance this Friday night. The band performed last Friday for the Jamboree against Demopolis, but unfortunately our performance was cut short due to rain and lightening. Hopefully, the weather will permit us to play for the whole game this Friday night.
This week's featured section of the band is the core of the Student Leadership Team: the Band Officers. This group consists of four students: Sarah Ashley Sparks, Drum Major; Ward Bedsole, Band Captain; Michelle Barren, 1st Lieutenant; and Keenya Martin, 2nd Lieutenant. The Drum Major directs the band, and the Band Captain is in charge of equipment. The 1st Lt. has control of the library and all of the music, and the 2nd Lt. takes care of the uniforms.
These four students make up the backbone of the entire Student Leadership Team, which all consists of section leaders. They all work as a group to make the entire organization a success.
This week, the band will be supporting our Thomasville Tigers as they defend their territory against the visiting Sweet Water Bulldogs. Please come out this Friday night and support our team. Please be sure to remember that parking is $2 per car, and admission is $5.
GO TIGERS!!!
