THS students return after Labor Day
Hannah Etheridge

Thomasville High School students and faculty returned to school on September 5th after a beautiful Labor Day weekend.

To start off the weekend, the Thomasville Tigers made all the fans proud in their victory over Sweet Water Friday with a score of 20-14. The cheerleaders and band also deserve recognition for their outstanding performance. This week the Tigers will travel to Hillcrest-Evergreen at 7:00 p.m. to play the Blue Devils. Good Luck Tigers!

Students are allowed to wear spirit shirts with jeans on Fridays. A theme for each game will be announced to the students per week, and the students are encouraged to take part in school spirit.

The volleyball team is also in action. The Lady Tigers will host their next game tonight at home against CCHS at 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, September 12, the Lady Tigers will play Sumter County at home beginning at 5 p.m. Good Luck Lady Tigers!

"See You at the Pole" t-shirts are on sale now for $6. Order forms are available at the school. Students will be allowed to wear their t-shirts to school on SYATP day.

Seniors should pay their senior fee of $35.00 to Mrs. Maroney by October 1. Also, the deadline for senior ads is September 15th. Be sure to see Ms. Scruggs or any annual staff member to place your order.

The Drama Club at THS will be hosting a "dessert theater" on September 16. Five ten-minute one-act plays will be performed by various students from Thomasville High School. Each one-act play is directed by a student of the drama organization. Tickets will be on sale for $10. All proceeds will go to the 2006-2007 Drama Club.

There are several opportunities for students to be involved at Thomasville High School and I encourage all to join an organization of their choice. Being involved in clubs and organizations at THS gives students a chance to make a difference. Don't be a follower, be a leader!

I would also like to encourage all of the Tiger fans to travel to Hillcrest-Evergreen this Friday and support our Thomasville Tigers. Support from the fans is a key ingredient for a successful season. Go, Fight, Win!

Until next time, I am Hannah Etheridge. Have a great week!
