Greetings from the Thomasville Band Room!

This week, the Thomasville High School Marching Band is in preparation for this Friday's homecoming game against Escambia County High School. The band will be performing during halftime, but the show will consist of the THS Homecoming Court and the announcing and crowning of this year's Homecoming Queen. The band will play a soft ballad as the Court is being escorted onto the field.

This week, the featured section of the band is the mellophones, led by junior band member Caleb Clardy. The mellophone is the marching version of the French horn, and this particular instrument is crucial in most of the group's harmony and counter-melodies. The mellophone is an alto-voiced instrument, and it is capable of playing within a wide range.

We would like to wish the best of luck to the Thomasville Tigers in their game against the Escambia County Blue Devils this Friday night at D. F. Anderson Field. Kick-off begins at 7 PM, so please be sure to come out and support our team.

GO BIG MAROON!!!
