THS Family Fall Festival is Oct. 24 The Thomasville High School Fourth Annual Family Fall Festival will be held Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the THS Gym. There will be games/booths, prizes and a children's costume contest. Admission for adult, children/students is $1. Games and booths will cost anywhere from .50¢ to $1. Everyone is invited to join in the family fun. The festival is sponsored by the FCCLA, FBLA and FFA.
Ghost Walk to be held downtown Oct. 28 The Arts Council of Thomasville will present the 3rd annual Kathryn Tucker Windham "Ghost Walk" to be held Saturday, Oct. 28 beginning at 5 p.m. at Clay Park in downtown Thomasville. Enjoy a hayride to historic homes while listening to music, singing and tales of Thomasville's past. Storytellers in period costume will tell tales from the "13 Alabama Ghosts" series. Thomasville native Kathryn Tucker Windham will also be on hand to tell a few tales of her own. There will also be Ghost Walk T-shirts and books by Mrs. Windham available for purchase, a children's costume contest beginning at 6 p.m., and the Dixie River Band will entertain at Clay Park. A children's entertainment area, sponsored by the THS Drama Club, will feature space jumps, slides and more. Armbands for this special area will be $5. Price per family is $15 and individual tickets prices are $5.
Lions Club collects old eyeglasses Trick or Treat! Treat someone to sight! Donate your old eyeglasses to the Lions Club for recycling! The Thomasville Lions Club will be collecting eyeglasses at the Ghostwalk downtown on Oct. 28 from 5 until 8 p.m. Collect all the old eyeglasses from your neighbors and friends and bring them down to the collection table in the park!
McKinley Reunion is Oct. 28 The descendants of James Monroe McKinley will be meeting at the Liberty Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, Oct. 28. Arrive early and bring a covered dish.
Horton - Fendley Reunion set for Nov. 4 The Horton - Fendley Family Reunion is Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Coast Guard Park on Tanner Williams Road in Mobile. South Marengo County Fire and Rescue Squad holds fish fry The South Marengo County Fire and Rescue Squad will hold a Fish Fry on Nov. 4 from around 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Hwy. 10, mile marker 36, house number 34818. Complete fish plate is $7 with dessert. Local deliveries will be available.
