Spiritual Reflections
Let God speak in your heart
Pat
Ozment, Jr.

This morning I planned to pick up some baseboard, from the building supply, but it is raining, with more in the forecast.

God is signaling me to realign my plans. I need to put, "remodeling our home," on hold and slip into, "restoring my soul." I need to slow down.

Sometimes when you are running short on time, the best thing you can do is slow down. Slow down and check your connections. The baseboards may not when there is pressure from any source, it is good to make sure your receiver is turned on, and you are plugged in. As God's children we are equipped for "Spiritual E-mail." We can both, send messages to, and receive messages from the sovereign creator of all the universe. What an opportunity, what a gift, what a waste when we forget to "power up," and check our mail. Have you checked your connection lately? Don't take your connection for granted, just because you are going to church.

Sometimes there is interference at church. The way to check your connection is to get alone with God and be quiet until He speaks. Don't expect to hear anything with your ears. Listen with your heart. What if you don't hear anything? Your connection is bad, or you are tuning in to the wrong frequency. Clear all your channels. "Lay aside anything that hinders you, and the sin that entangles you."

Shut down everything else, close all your open programs and say Father, "I need a word from you, I don't want to hear anything else but you," then wait, and listen. Let Him speak in your heart. What He lays on your heart, at such a time, is what He is interested in, and that is what you need to get involved in. The more you do this the stronger your connection will be.

Soon your connection will go from "dial- up" to "high speed" and then you will become "wireless," which means that God can get through to you wherever you are. Stop what you are doing. Type in the password, "Jesus," log on with God, and I'll see you in church.
