Fulton Head Start accredited

Community Action Agency of Baldwin, Coffeeville, Clarke, Monroe and Conecuh Counties Coffeeville Head Start Center, Coffeeville Pre-Kindergarten and Fulton Head Start Center has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children - the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals.

"We are excited and extremely proud to be accredited by NAEYC, because we are committed to excellence, we are still working on getting our remaining Head Start Centers accredited," said Cassandra Boykin, Agency Executive Director. "This milestone of acquiring accreditation through NAEYC lets Head Start parents, and the communities that we serve know that children in our program are getting the best care and early learning experiences that is needed in preparing them for their school years to come," said Mrs. Boykin. As a Community Action Agency, our nation-wide motto is "Helping People, Changing Lives," and certainly this is a necessary step toward changing the lives of families within our five-county service area.

More than 11,000 early childhood program - serving over one million young children- are currently accredited by NAEYC. "In recent years, we've seen a growing number of child care and pre-school programs earning NAEYC Accreditation," said Mark Ginsberg, Ph.D., Executive Director of NAEYC.

Work still remains, as we continue our efforts of ensuring that all Agency Head Start Centers will become a part of this leading initiative to become leaders in a national effort to raise the quality of early childhood education, and to help give all children a better start through Head Start.
