Beasley gets Auxiliary scholarship
 | | Southwest Alabama Medical Hospital Auxiliary members, Shirley Crowe(L) and Elinor Ott (R) present a scholarship check to Alabama Southern student, Barbara Beasley, of Monroeville.
Ms. Beasley graduated from Monroe County High School. The mother of six children, Barbara has chosen to further her education and enter the field of nursing.
"This profession will bring about a unique set of skills that I have had the great fortune of acquiring as a mom. A nursing career will allow me great flexibility in how I structure my work week and for a single mom that is a wonderful thing to be able to do," says Beasley.
Rachel Powell, of Alabama Southern, again was instrumental in providing assistance and technical support to Auxiliary members in organizing the application process and networking with the community to increase awareness of the scholarship that is available to a student 21 years of age or older and is enrolled in an LPN/RN curriculum at Alabama Southern.
This is an annual scholarship and will be offered again for the Fall 2007 school year. For more information regarding the scholarship, please contact Rachel Powell at 334-636-9642, ext: 622.
