The Thomasville Middle School Tigers completed a perfect season this past Monday, October 23, when they defeated the Demopolis Middle School Tigers 14-0 on the road in their sixth and final game of the year.

After both teams were victims of a turnover in their first possessions of the game, Thomasville got on the scoreboard on a 12-yard dash by Charles Taylor with 4:20 to play in the first quarter. Taylor ran in the two-point conversion as well and Thomasville led 8-0.

That's the way it would remain for much of the game as the defenses for both teams seemed to rise to the occasion any time they needed to. That was true for Demopolis in particular stopping two Thomasville drives in the red zone, once holding them on downs and picking off a pass the second time.

Early in the fourth quarter it was Thomasville's defense that made the big play recovering a fumble at the Demopolis 23 yard line on the second play from scrimmage following the Demopolis interception at the 13.

Wasting little time the Thomasville offense punched it in this time scoring on a five-yard pass from Darius Bowen to Tyler Hayes. The two-point conversion failed but the Thomasville lead stood at 14-0.

That's all it would take for Thomasville as the relentless defense kept the Demopolis offense in check for the balance of the game to preserve the win.
