First nine weeks are history
DeAnna Phillips

Cooler weather finally makes its way to south Alabama and the students at Thomasville High School are glad to get the first nine weeks out of the way and continue on to the second nine weeks. Congratulations are in order for Mrs. Jill Barlow for winning the "Teacher of the Year Award", selected by the students for the 2006 year.

Attention seniors! The Balfour representative will be here on Nov. 8 and you should be ready to pay for your selections on that date. The J. L. Bedsole scholarship applications are due no later than Nov. 30. Any senior who wishes to take a college visitation day should first have Mrs. Williams' approval before going.

If any student has not had their photograph taken for the yearbook, make-up picture day is on Oct. 26. This includes senior drape pictures.

Congratulations once again to the Thomasville Tigers on their big win Friday night against Southside Selma. The score was 42-16. Coach Hankins asks that all fans come out and support the Tigers in Monroe County this Friday night at 7 p.m. Good luck to the football players, cheerleaders and band.

The Thomasville High School Drama Club asks that all members sign up to sell raffle tickets this Saturday. The sign up sheet is outside Mrs. Newton's room. Also, if you have not yet brought can goods for the canned food drive, please bring those by the end of this week.

Students don't forget to pay your prom fees before the price increases. The dues are $40 as of right now.

Bringing you the news from Thomasville High School, I am DeAnna Phillips. Go Tigers!
