County coroner arrested after scuffle
Clarke County Coroner Jonah Thomas was arrested and charged with domestic violence Sunday night. The charges stemmed from an incident earlier in the day involving his then girlfriend and later, her father, Tom Browder, who was charged with assault. Police reported that injuries received by all parties were minor. Thomas was released after a 12-hour cooling off period. Thomas was appointed the county coroner after Keith Knight retired from the position earlier this year. His bid for reelection fell short Tuesday night against Kevin Brunson.
