Peace poster winners

Peace Poster Winners: Aami Patel - second place; Montana Prescott - first place; and Satyn Spears - third place.

"Celebrate Peace" is the theme of the 2006-07 Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Lions Clubs International sponsors the program to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere.

Prescott's poster depicts a cake on a pedestal with a diverse group of children, some with balloons, gathered around for their "peace." Candles and the continents are featured on the top, and flags from around the globe make up the outer sides of the cake.

Winners and their parents were treated to a banquet in their honor. Winners also received a monetary gift.

"Our Club is cheering for Montana as his poster advances in the competition, and we hope that his vision will ultimately be shared with others around the world," said Cindy Spillers, Poster Chairperson.
