Pep Rally in the stands Friday night There will be a pep rally in the stands at D.F. Anderson Field on Friday night, Nov. 24 at 6:15 p.m. before the football game.
Clarke County Historical Society to meet The Clarke County Historical Society will meet Sunday, Nov. 26 at 2:30 p.m. at the Grove Hill Town Hall. Mrs. Jackie Matte, an independent scholar with the Alabama Humanities Foundation's speaker's bureau, will present the program entitled, "A Little Known Episode of Alabama's History: The imprisonment of Geronimo and the Apaches, Mount Vernon, Alabama 1887-1894." Geronimo was the leader of the last American Indian fighting force formally to capitulate to the United States. He was held at Mount Vernon from 1887 to 1894. The presentation will include slides made from photographs taken during his time in Alabama. The public is invited to attend.
VFW meeting is Nov. 27 VFW Post 5106 and it's Ladies Auxiliary will have their regular monthly meeting Monday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend this meeting.
SAMC Auxiliary holds Jewelry Sale The Southwest Alabama Medical Center Auxiliary will sponsor a Masquerade $5 Jewelry Sale Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 27 & 28 from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. in the New Lobby of the Thomasville Nursing Home. Cash, check and credit cards accepted. Proceeds will benefit Southwest Alabama Medical Center.

Dixons Mills Christmas Parade is Dec. 16 The Dixons Mills Christmas Parade is Saturday, Dec. 16 starting at 10 a.m. The parade is sponsored by Splendid Harmony Social and Savings Club and the Dixons Mills Volunteer Fire Department. The entry fee for the parade is $25.
