Obituaries

James Dwayne Alford

James Dwayne Alford, 47, of Coffeeville died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Funeral services were held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Benny Crawford and Rev. Teddy Ott officiating. Interment followed at Kelley Cemetery in Thomasville.

Mr. Alford was a carpenter and was a member of Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Myron Neal Alford; grandmothers, Willie Grey Ott and Ollie Mae Dews; and grandfather, Rufus Alford.

Survivors include his wife, Ruthie Wynn Alford of Coffeeville; one son, Josh (Angela) Alford of Chatom; one daughter, April (Mitchell) Aiken of Magnolia; his parents, James and Ann Alford of Thomasville; two sisters, Vicky (Dale) Dumas of Grove Hill and Cindy (Ricky) Hudson of Thomasville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Dale Dumas, Arthur Dale Young, Chuck Andrews, Travis Hudson, Henry Wynn, Russell Ott, Terry Ogle and J. J. Kitrell.

Honorary pallbearers were Rick Patterson, Jeremy Ogle, Jonathan Ogle, Mitchell Aiken, Elroy Alford, Steve Kelley, Dale Young, Michael Gregory, Dean Dumas, David Jordan and Alex Taylor.

Funeral arrangements were directed by O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville.

Frank Russell

Frank Russell, 76, died November 14, 2006 at Mobile Infirmary. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. at Cedar Point Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Williams officiating. Interment followed in Barney-Rainey Cemetery in West Bend.

Mr. Russell was a retired logger and was a member of Cedar Point Baptist Church in West Bend.

Survivors include three daughters, Minnie Russell of Schenectady, N.Y., Mona Bass of West Bend and Janese Hayes of Thomasville; three sons, Cleveland Russell of West Bend, Frank Russell, Jr. of Mobile and Labarrion Russell of Thomasville; one sister, Lillie M. Norwood of Mobile; one brother, Jessie Walker of West Bend; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were directed by Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home in Thomasville.
