Three arrested in Pine Hill drug bust

On November 17, 2006 at approximately 5:30 a.m.. the Pine Hill Police Department along with members of the 4th Circuit Drug Task Force, Wilcox County Swat Team and Task Force One 1st Circuit Drug Task Force, executed three search warrants at the Peachtree Apartments.

This is a result of an eight month long investigation by the Pine Hill Police Department and the 4th Circuit Drug Task Force, a small amount of drugs and one firearm was taken during the search. Arrested were; Johnny Portis Jr. AKA "Black Jack" for 2 counts of Distribution of Controlled Substances, Jessica Buford for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Kendrick Ransom for Menacing and Resisting Arrest. Other Charges are expected.

"This is a result of the Pine Hill Police Department trying to stop illegal drug distribution in our jurisdiction, and the warning that I have for drug dealers is stop or you will go to prison," said Chief John Brown.

"Illegal drug activity will not be tolerated here and I have a zero tolerance for it and will continue the fight against it. Others are already caught but just don't know it yet," he said.
