Deputies arrest Jackson man after pursuit

Clarke County sheriff deputies arrested a man in Jackson last week after the vehicle he was riding in was pursued and then wrecked.

Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, which was being driven by a juvenile, on Highway 69, but the driver did not stop.

They followed the vehicle through Jackson, to McDonald Drive, where the driver and another passenger jumped out. The vehicle struck the driver before it wrecked.

Officers were not able to catch the driver or the other passenger who fled. They found marijuana in the vehicle.

Dalvin Dontae Barnes, 21, was arrested for possession of marijuana, attempt to elude, reckless driving and reckless endangerment. His bond was set at $6,000.
