Residents enjoy week of singing
By JoAnn Smyly
Thomasville Nursing Home News

One of the things I keep learning is that the secret of being happy is doing things for other people.

Well this is the week that we look forward to for a long time, seeing family and friends sharing a great meal. Remember the residents at this nursing home and to visit with them, some cannot leave and they would enjoy a visit from family and friends. We have so much to be thankful for, let us not forget the reason that we celebrate Thanksgiving. Remember our families overseas.

The resident had a wonderful time last week James Keel and group sang for them Sunday afternoon, Bonnie Parten sang Monday, the ladies from the Church of God on Tuesday sang great and gave a great devotional, horseshoes and fun and fit by rehab, Mrs. Jane Hamilton and Nelda Pope was Wednesday and that afternoon the birthday bash by Pine Hill Baptist Church, thank you very much the residents had a great time.

Thursday some of the residents were treated to a hand message from Kathy Roberts from "Finding Balance Day Spa". Kathy tells me that she and BJ are going to come weekly and donate their time for the residents here. Please when you see them say a very special thank you, that is a wonderful thing for them to do or better yet go by the spa for a visit. Thursday night was our annual Thanksgiving Dinner it was a great time for all. I would like to thank each and everyone for a great meal. The residents really forward for this every year.

We would like to say a very special thank you to the kids at Clarke Prep they made some well dressed turkeys for the residents and I wish every child could have seem the smiles on their faces.

We have a special friend Mrs. Louise Fendley who lives in Fulton, she crochets lap robes for the residents and we thank her very much.

Remember about the quilt it will be given away Nov. 30 if you have not gotten a ticket please come by the nursing home for a chance to win.
