THS band rests after long night
Sarah Ashley Sparks

The Thomasville HighSchool Marching Band Percussion section are: front (L-R) Clay Van Wyck and McKinley Holt; back, Austin Green, Asa Charleston, Steven Barren, Brian Williams, Mack Jordan, Bernard Jackson and Stephon Simmons.
Greetings from the Thomasville Band Room!

This past Friday night, the marching band traveled to Heflin to support the varsity football team in their game against Cleburne County High School. After celebrating their outstanding win, we then traveled all the way back to Thomasville, arriving home at 2:15 AM.

Even though it was a miserably tiring trip, everyone was assured that they would have plenty of time to catch up on their sleep before they had to go back to school, because this entire week has been set aside for Thanksgiving holidays. This week, there has been no school and no marching band rehearsals. However, we will be meeting at the THS Band Room this Friday to prepare for that night's football game.

This week's featured section of the marching band is the percussion. "Percussion" is, in reality, the fancy word for "drums". The main purpose of the percussion section is to keep tempo and to enhance precision in our music. This year, the percussion section leader is senior Brian Williams.

This Friday night, the THS varsity football team will be playing in the third round of the play-offs against Trinity Presbyterian at D. F. Anderson Field. Please come out and support our Tigers. Also, be aware that the price for a play-off ticket is $7.

GO THOMASVILLE!!!
