Sex for murder trial on county docket

The third criminal jury term for the year will begin in Clarke County Circuit Court Monday.

Sharon Rutherford, a teacher at Coffeeville High School is on charges stemming from alleged sexual misconduct with students.

Rutherford was indicted for solicitation of murder and two counts of enticing a child to enter a room for immoral purposes.

She was said to have asked one of her students, with which she was alleged to have had an affair, to murder her husband.

The case is on Judge Thomas Baxter's docket for Dec. 4.

A second murder trial is on the docket for Zerrick Pritchett.

Pritchett was indicted for murdering a patient at Thomasville Mental Health Center. The first trial ended in a mistrial.

The case is on Judge Harold Crow's docket for Dec. 4.
