Water Board discuss lines to LP
By Arthur McLean Editor

The paperwork is complete for the city's proposed extension of water and sewer lines to the L-P plant and is under the public comment phase of approval, reported Mayor Sheldon Day.

Engineers expect to begin construction on the project by February and officials believe they will have the lines connect to L-P by it's start date in 2007.

The final engineering numbers are being compiled for the proposed water treatment plant and once the engineering is complete in a few weeks, the city will be submitting its final engineering documents to the USDA for approval to begin construction on the treatment plant.

Day also reported that negotiations were going well in securing a new site for the water intake along the Alabama River.
