TMS Lady Tigers down Sweet Water 45-33

The Thomasville Middle School Lady Tigers defeated the Sweet Water Middle School Lady Bulldogs 45-33 in a rematch between the two teams on Thursday, November 16.

In the game, which was played at Thomasville, the Lady Tigers parlayed a 25-16 halftime lead into the 12-point victory. "I thought we played hard and won as a team," TMS Lady Tiger Coach Jim Sims said. "Turnovers hurt us again early in the game but our hustle, effort and desire pushed us over the top and made it possible for us to win."

Leading the TMS scoring attack was Kyera Rowe with 22 points followed by Amber Coston with 11. Rounding out the scoring was Mahalia Crawford and Natalie Washington with six points each. On the boards Rowe was the leader with nine rebounds followed by Crawford with seven. Rowe made it an offensive sweep, by also leading the Lady Tigers with five assists followed by Coston with two.

With the win the TMS Lady Tigers find themselves with a perfect 5-0 record at the midway point of the 2006 season. After a schedule change the Lady Tigers were scheduled to play the Wilson Hall Middle School Ladies in Grove Hill on Monday, November 27 followed by another road trip to Jackson on Thursday, November 30 to take on the Lady Aggies of Jackson Middle School. Start time for both games was set at 5 p.m.
