OBITUARIES Ellis Norman Brasell Ellis Norman Brasell, 87, of Thomasville died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Springhill Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held at Thomasville United Methodist Church on Friday, Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Philip Craddock officiating. Interment followed in Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville. Mr. Brasell was a former nursery operator and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Thomasville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Louise G. Brasell of Thomasville; two sons, Jimmy Brasell of Potomac Falls, Va. and Phillip Brasell of Thomasville; one daughter, Michelle Cofield of Thomasville; one sister, Theda Moss of Thomasville; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers were Dale Robertson, Pallas Lee VanSchaick, Donald Pugh, Chris Beverly, Norman Loper, Jon Michael Cofield. Honorary pallbearers were John Collins, Charlie Bethea, Gilmer Beverly, Frank Myers, Ed Ford, Marcus Champion, Clarence Newton, Robert Dement and Terry Caldwell. Funeral arrangements were directed by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. T. C. Denson T. C. Denson, 72, of Thomasville, died November 26, 2006 at his home. Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral in Thomasville on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. with Rev. James “Skeeter” Parnell officiating. Interment followed at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville. Mr. Denson was a retired diesel mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Helen Eloise Denson of Thomasville; three sons, Tommy Denson of Eight Mile, Charles Denson of Thomasville and Jerry Denson of Chilton; two daughters, Doris Dement and Mary Mitchell, both of Thomasville; one brother, Vernon L. Denson of Wedowee; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Donnie Williams, Barry Denson, Kevin Denson, Gaylen Denson, Dale Fant and Bobby Smith. Funeral arrangements were directed by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. Helen White Huff Helen White Huff, 55, of Thomasville died November 29, 2006 at her home. Funeral services were held Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at Thomasville Church of God in Christ. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Huff was a homemaker and was a member of the Thomasville Church of God in Christ. Survivors include her husband, James Huff, Sr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; four children, Terri Geter, Lisa Finklea, Toyanna Huff and James Huff of Mobile; three brothers, David White of Lawton, Okla., Alexander White and Arthur White, both of Thomasville; two sisters, Gloria J. White of Thomasville and Mattie Gillard of Whatley; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral arrangements were directed by Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home in Thomasville. Scott Johnson Scott Johnson, 79, of Thomasville died November 25, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. at Givenland C.M.E. Church in Bashi with Rev. Corey Pruitt officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mr. Johnson was retired from McMillan Bloedel and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Alma Johnson of Bashi; eight children, Joseph (Thelma) Johnson, Willow Singleton, Evra (Genae) Johnson, Alonzo (Rita) Johnson, Vincent Johnson, Synthia (Frankie) Wright, Sandra Johnson and Ricky (Cathy) Johnson; 26 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Emma (James) Nobles, Helen (Leroy) Jones; and one brother, Morris Johnson. Funeral arrangements were directed by Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home in Thomasville. Virgil J. Kelley Virgil J. Kelley, 83, of Linden died Friday, December 1, 2006 at Marengo Nursing Home in Linden. Graveside services were held at Kelley Cemetery in Thomasville on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tony Cannon officiating. Mrs. Kelley was a former paper mill worker. Survivors include one son, Robert Larry Kelley of Linden; one sister, Birdie Pitts of Six Mile; and one grandchild. Funeral arrangements were directed by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden. Corene P. Moseley Corene P. Moseley, 92, of Chilton died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at a family home in Saraland. Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Bealie Harrison officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Coffeeville. Mrs. Moseley was retired from Brookley Field in Mobile and was a member of Chilton Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Edna P. Matthews Small of Saraland; and two nephews, Bobby J. Matthews and Ed Matthews, both of Saraland. Pallbearers were Leon Harrison, Billy Harrison, Jerry Hare, M. L. Roberts, Don Stephens and James Pugh. Alternate pallbearer was Herman Stephens. Funeral arrangements were directed by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. Evelyn Megginson Pruett Evelyn Megginson Pruett, age 96, a native and former resident of Uniontown died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Woodhaven Manor in Demopolis. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 2 at Gallion Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Davis and Rev. Evie Riley Megginson officiating. Interment followed at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown. Mrs. Pruett was a resident of Demopolis for the past three months. She was a member of Gallion Baptist Church for the past fifteen years and was a member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pruett was preceded in death by her husband, Wallie Miller Pruett. Survivors include two daughters, Shelmerdene Pruett Folsom and her husband, John of Flomaton, Luverne Pruett Ratliff and her husband, Ottis of Demopolis; two sons, Gerald Pruett and his wife, Martha and Eddie Pruett, all of Uniontown; eleven grandchildren; twentyfour great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Pallbearers were Justin Pruett, Mark Ratliff, Jerry Pruett, Johnny Folsom, Jr., Eddie Pruett Jr., Mickey Folsom. Honorary pallbearers were members of her Sunday School Class at Gallion Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements were directed by Kidd-Robbins Funeral Home in Demopolis. Joe CooperWallace Joe Cooper Wallace, 83, of Linden died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Long Term Hospital of Tuscaloosa. Funeral services were held at Forest Hill Baptist Church on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brooks Barkley and Rev. Wayne Sharpe officiating. Interment followed at Linden Memorial Park in Linden. Mr. Wallace was a retired furniture store owner, a U. S. Army Veteran and was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ila A. Wallace of Linden; three sons, Joe (Paula) Wallace, Jr., Rick Wallace and Dean (Mary Ellen) Wallace, all of Linden; two daughters, Lori (Burt) Guin of Livingston and Roben (Chris) Taylor of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Alpha Lee Turner of Houston, Texas and Joann Woodall of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ed Vines, Tommy Glass, Royce Schroeder, J. K. Marlow, Sonny Rentz and Gene Guy. Alternate pallbearer was Walter Cannon.
