Mallory Broadus competed in the finale “Afterschool (Not) Idle” contest on Nov. 28 at the MSU Riley Center in Meridian, Miss.
Before the competition, the contestants, judges and several Meridian dignitaries attended a reception to get acquainted. At that time, Mallory found out that Bo Bice, American Idle runner-up, was one of the judges. After meeting Bo and getting his autograph, the contestants took the stage.
Mallory performed her rendition of Martina McBride’s “Broken Wing”. She came in second place and won $750 in Peavey products.
