Spiritual Reflections
We don’t know what our home will be like there. We know what its like on the Coosa ridge, we have everything about the place etched in our minds. Peggy has memories of it that go back to her early childhood, when it was the weekend get away for her family. Our joint memories of it, go back to our wedding night 43 years ago, because that’s where we spent our honeymoon. More recently, there are the memories of all the hard work we did remodeling it to make it a comfortable home. We long to get back to our little cottage, it seems like paradise to us, and yet we will leave it for a place unseen, and a people unknown. Why? We do it because we have been called. We do it because we have experienced the call of the Spirit of Christ in our hearts. That’s the call from within. Read it in Matthew 28:19-20. We do it because we have experienced the call from Hell. Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus, how the rich man in the torment of Hades asked God to send Lazarus to warn his brothers lest they end up like him. Those who have died without a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ call us to warn the lost. We do it because we have a call from outside, like the Macedonian man called Paul in a dream. Those outside, are the millions who know nothing, or very little about Jesus, people like the Dagomba people of Tamale. That’s why we do it. We are called. I’m convinced there are some who will read this that are also called.
Could it be you? Listen with your heart, and join us. See you in Church
