Tigers defeat Warriors at The Hank
      The Thomasville High School Varsity Baseball team made it two wins in a row when they defeated the 6A Davidson Warriors 7-3 this past Saturday, February 24. The game which was played at Hank Aaron Stadium was the final of four games played by the Tigers in this year's Hank Aaron Classic.

Bulldogs split with Patriots
      The Sweet Water Bulldogs came from behind to pull off an 8-7 win over the visiting 2A American Christian Academy Patriots this past Saturday, February 24. In the game, which was the second game of a double header between the two teams, Sweet Water scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to overcome a 7-5 deficit and post the win.

      Every year about this time in Major League training camps in both Arizona and Florida; Managers, coaches, and players of all the Major League organizations have one thing in common. That of course is the fervent belief that this season is going to be the one when the stars will align, errors will be few, runs scored a plenty and the World Series a season ending destination.

Lady Tigers playoff run ends in Troy to Ashford
      Their dreams of a run at a 4A State Championship ended for the Thomasville Lady Tiger Basketball team this past Wednesday, February 21, when they fell 74 -41 to the Ashford Lady Yellow Jackets in the regional tournament held on the campus of Troy State Universtiy.

      Brelee Vick, 1st grader at TES, killed her first deer in "Ben's Bottom" in Putnam at the end of January hunting with her dad. She is the daughter of Marc and Sandy Vick of Thomasville.

Bassmasters tournament
      The Clarke County Bassmasters will hold their Open Buddy Bass Tournament April 7, at Ellis Landing in Miller's Ferry. First place is $1,000 guaranteed. Entry fee is $85.
