Shepherd joins staff at ASCC
      Dr. John A. Johnson, President of Alabama Southern Community College, recently appointed Dr. Charles Wesley Shepherd, Jr. of Quitman, Miss. to the position of director for the National Center for Pulp and Paper Technology Training.

Annual FFA fruit and meat sale is in full swing

      The Thomasville FFA Chapter is having its annual fund-raiser. The members are having a Thanksgiving and Christmas meat and fruit sale. Money raised will defray the cost of the National FFA Organization Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

Pace named teacher of year
      Jacquelyn Pace has been named the 2007 teacher of the year by Sky Haven Brain-Based Theme School, an urban neighborhood elementary school located near downtown Atlanta. Mrs. Pace is the daughter of Bettye S. Cox of Thomasville and the late Johnny B. Cox. She is the granddaughter of Susie D. Sellers of Coffeeville and the late Elmira Johnson of Jackson.

ASCC Ambassadors served sweet treats at Kathryn Tucker Windham event
      The 2007 -2008 Alabama Southern Ambassadors helped in many ways at the Kathryn Tucker Windham event last Sat - ur day at Alabama Southern in Thomasville. The students helped serve the delicious desserts provided in honor of Kathryn Tucker Windham by the women's clubs of Thomasville which can be seen in the picture with the students.

THS library receives funds
     Clarke County Education Retirees Association President Wilma Day presented a $300 Library Enhancement Fund donation to Charlene Vick, librarian at Thomasville High School. The association presents a check yearly to one of the high school libraries in Clarke County as part of their community service.
