SAMC to sponsor blood drive Jan. 11

Because of the serious blood shortage in our area, Southwest Alabama Medical Center will sponsor a community-wide blood drive on Thursday, Jan. 11, between the hours of 12 noon and 6 p.m. in the bloodmobile that will be parked in front of the hospital.

United Blood Services is the non-profit blood provider to the Thomasville Hospital and in order to assure there will be a safe adequate supply of blood for the patients, area residents are encouraged to take time on Jan.

11 to donate blood....the "Gift of Life"! The community should join hands, roll up our sleeves and challenge ourselves to ensure a "Happy New Year" for everyone... patients with cancer, burn and accidents victims, children with blood disorders...everyone who will need blood!

Donors will receive t-shirts, and for more information, contact Lisa Callahan at the Southwest Alabama Medical Center lab at 334-636-4431.

Remember, hospital patients are depending on you!
