Good to see civic center work
OUR VIEW
It was a very long and difficult road, but work has finally begun on the Thomasville Civic Center.

It was good to see crews performing the interior demolition work that will eventually open up the space for multiple uses.

While small, the building will hopefully be big enough to house the events Thomasville hopes to draw to it.

Civic centers are rarely money-making entities, but they often serve as a symbol that a community values the arts and is open to the outside world.

While we anticipate seeing the finished product, we also hope the city fully understands the financial considerations of operating such a facility.

Despite those concerns for the moment. We look forward to its completion and we are hopeful that it will be something that all the citizens of Thomasville will soon be able to point to with pride.

Alcohol

It's looking like Thomasville may actually have a vote on the issue of legalizing alcohol sales sometime in early April.

Regardless of how it turns out, we'll all still be neighbors when it's done.
