Second semester has arrived

Welcome back, students and faculty! The second semester has arrived and students, as well as teachers, are hard at work. Many exciting events will take place this semester including the THS Beauty Review, Freshmen Night, Prom 2007, and, of course, graduation for the senior class. With so many events taking place, the students will be very busy!

Thursday, January 18th, is the last day for any girl or senior male to buy tickets for the Beauty Review. Registration is $25 and tickets are $8 each. Tickets will be on sale for students who will be participating in the talent portion of the Beauty Review on Wednesday, January 10th. Mrs. Barlow is selling tickets before and after school.

Congratulations to the Varsity Girls' Basketball Team who won the Jackson High School Christmas Tournament during the break!

There will be a basketball game Friday, January 12th, at Thomasville vs. Jackson for the Junior Varsity, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys starting at 5:00 p.m. There will also be a basketball game at Thomasville Saturday, January 13th, beginning at 5:00 p.m. vs. Coffeeville for the Junior Varsity, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys. GOOD LUCK TIGERS!

Any 14-year old student who is interested in playing Park and Recreation Basketball should stop by the office for information.

Seniors who are on the Advanced Diploma with Honors should take notice that community service hours will be due a few weeks in advance of other grades, so do not wait until the last minute to get those community service hours!

Remember, students, just because it is the last semester does not mean school is over, so keep pushing forward and working hard!
