OBITUARIES Frances Burnett Armstrong Frances Burnett Armstrong, 80, of Fairhope died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at her home. Memorial services were held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville on Friday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. with Dr. James Best officiating. Mrs. Armstrong was a former credit advisor at a bank. Survivors include one son, Robert Armstrong of Crystal Lake, Ill.; two daughters, Connie Wilinski of Robertsdale and Wanda Vogt of Crown Point, Ind.; eight grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. Funeral arrangements were directed by O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. Jennie Lee Burroughs Jennie Lee Burroughs, 90, of Thomasville died Monday, January 15, 2007 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 20 at 12 noon at the New Hope No. 1 Baptist Church with Rev. James G. Curry officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs. Burroughs was a homemaker and was a member of New Hope No. 1 First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Leonard Burroughs; two daughters, Pauline (James) Thompson of Thomasville and Lelia (Joe N.) Barren of Mobile; one sister, Hattie Taylor of New York; one brother, Sherman (Mildred) Taylor of Mobile; 10 grandchildren, 25 greatgrandchildren and five greatgreat grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were directed by Thomasville Memorial Funeral Home in Thomasville. Ivey Nelson McClure Ivey Nelson McClure, 87, of Thomasville died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Thomasville Nursing Home. Funeral services were held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lister Hill officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Cemetery in Thomasville. Mr. McClure served in the U. S. Coast Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a member of Glen Burnie Lodge No. 213 F & AM in Maryland for over 50 years. Survivors include his sisterin law, Ethel McCLure of Albany, La.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were David Carter, Gary Provenzano, Tony Williams, Gary Tucker, Eddie Boudreaux, Jared Boudreaux and Aaron Denham. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Smith, Bobby Smitherman, Price Booker and Charlie Smith. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Scholarship Fund of MOAA, Dept. 889, Alexandria, Va. 22334-0889 or the American Cancer Society. Ethel Evans Helton McGraw Ethel Evans Helton McGraw, 99, of Camden died Saturday, January 20, 2007 at Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville. Funeral services were held at Camden United Methodist Church on Monday, Jan. 22 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ed Shirley and Rev. Chris Giles officiating. Interment followed at 3 p.m. at Geneva Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Matherville, Miss. Mrs. McGraw was a member of Camden United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Erin Lewis of Thomasville; three stepdaughters, Louise Rogers, Dot Turner and Faye McDonald, all of Camden; five grandsons, Scott Lewis and Neil Lewis, both of Thomasville, Alan Lewis of Demopolis, Bryant Helton and Mathew Helton, both of California; two granddaughters, Suzette Davie of Montgomery and Leslie Helton of California; eight great-grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; and 40 step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Gabe Davie, Scott Lewis, Alan Lewis and Neil Lewis. Funeral arrangements were directed by O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville. Jannie Kidd Stabler Jannie Kidd Stabler, 93, died January 14, 2007. Funeral services were held January 20, 2007 at Midway Baptist Church in Dickinson with Rev. W. H. Sharp officiating. Interment followed in St. Thomas A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Lower Peach Tree. Mrs. Stabler was a Sunday School teacher at Midway Baptist Church in Dickinson and was also a member of the Bethlehem Chapter OES 191 in Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Stabler and a grandson, Mike Stabler; and one sister, Bertha Carstarphen. Survivors include two daughters, Donnell (Elder Willie) Wilson of Fulton and Nellie (Cleophus) Wheat of Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, Robert James (Bettye) Stabler of Carson Calif., J. L. (Sandra) Stabler of Fulton and Bobby Stabler of New Port News, Va.; two sisters, Catherine Hobbie and Danny Kidd, both of Prichard; two brothers, George (Jean) Kidd of Mobile and Jimmy Lee Kidd of Hartford, Conn.; 30 grandchildren, a host of greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers were Ronnie Tunstall, Walter Tunstall, Larry Tunstall, Michael Stabler, Jermaine Stabler and J. L. Stabler, Jr. Flowerbearers were family and friends and Midway Baptist Church.
Funeral arrangements were directed by Mosley Funeral Home in Thomasville.
