Baseball season is here

Greetings, from Thomasville High School.

Baseball season is finally here! The Thomasville Tiger Baseball team will be playing in the Hank Aaron Classic this week. Good Luck, Tigers!

Congratulations to the Lady Tiger Basketball team for defeating T. R. Miller in Sub- State. The Lady Tigers played Ashford on Wednesday at Troy University. The score of the game will be announced at a later date.

There will be a softball game for the Junior Varsity team at Martin Middle School in Selma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Varsity team will play in Jackson on Friday and Saturday. The times of the varsity games are unknown at this time.

Congratulations to the following girls who participated in the THS Beauty Review this past weekend: Top Beauty - DeAnna Phillips; 1st Alt. - Morgan Downey; 2nd Alt. - Jessica Harper; 3rd Alt. - Meg Gibson; and 4th Alt. - Chelsy Brasell.

Also, congratulations to the following tuxedo boys who placed in the Most Handsome portion on the Beauty Review: Most Handsome - Andrew Parten; 1st Alt. - Jereme Wilroy; 2nd Alt. Mark Simon; 3rd Alt- Preston Brooks; 4th Alternate - Jake Overstreet.

Felicia Rotten was named Miss Congeniality Saturday night. Congrats, Felicia!

Pre-registration at Thomasville High School will be held on Monday, February 26th for grades 9-11. There will be a parent meeting the same Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. Pre-registration for the 8th grade (entering freshmen) will be held Tuesday, February 27th at 7:30 p.m. in the TMS Cafeteria.

Seniors, remember that Technical Scholarship applications to Alabama Southern Community College are due March 1st.

There will be a financial aid workshop held at ASCC on February 26.

Any student at THS who would like to participate in the St. Jude Math-a-thon should see Mrs. Dumas by Friday, February 23. Proceeds will go to help children diagnosed with cancer. Prizes include a ticket to Six Flags for participating and the top fundraiser could win a digital camera or an MP3 Player.

Freshmen should not forget that their class fees are due. The fees are $25. Freshmen can pay thse dues during 1st or 2nd lunch, to Mrs. Henson.
