Lady Tigers headed to Troy for regionals

The Thomasville High School Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Tigers of T. R. Miller High School 48-44 this past Thursday, February 15, in the sub-regional game played in Thomasville. The final outcome of the game was not decided until the final seconds when Thomasville sank two free shots with :06 remaining to ice the game. In the game Lady Tiger Coach Curtis Lane got great effort from his entire team with some of those who came off the bench giving Thomasville just the lift they needed at just the right time.

Leading the offensive effort of the Lady Tigers was Ebony Earley with 19 points including 5 of 8 from the free throw line. Dominic Watters was next with 10 points followed by Tamara Robinson with eight; Sondra Lanier and Nicole Washington with four points each; and Keenya Martin with three. Earley and Lanier were the rebounding leaders with eight apiece. The trio of Lanier, Martin and Washington led the team in assists with two each while over on defense Earley was the leader with four steals and one blocked shot followed by Robinson with three steals.

With the win the Lady Tigers advance to regionals where they were scheduled to play the Lady Yellow Jackets from Ashford High School in a 3:00 PM game on Wednesday, February 21.
