The Thomasville Middle School Tigers opened the 2007 baseball season on Monday, February 19, with a 7-3 road win over the Citronelle Middle School Wildcats. The Tigers took the lead first in the top of the third inning when they plated three runs. The lead was short lived however as the homestanding Wildcats matched them in their half of the inning to knot the game at 3 - 3. Not to be denied the Tigers came out in the top of the fourth and scored four more to move ahead for good at 7- 3.

Brett Skelton was the starter on the mound for Thomasville working three innings in which he gave up five hits and one walk while striking out five. Zack Ross followed him for the final two innings of the game and allowed only a walk while striking out four to pick up the win.

At the plate Zack Day and Tyler Hayes set the pace for the Tigers with two hits each. Others contributing one hit each to the eight hit attack were Darius Bowen, Zack Ross, Billy Ruck and Brett Skelton. Day and Ross were the RBI leaders for Thomasville with two apiece. Day who had an all-round good game matched Charles Taylor in runs scored with two apiece while Harrison Lewis, Will Morgan and Ross each scored one.

On the schedule next for the TMS Tigers is a 1:00 PM game on Friday, February 23, with the middle school team from Leroy.
