We hope you enjoy Horizons

Enclosed in this week's Thomasville Times is our annual Horizons edition, also known as the Progress edition.

While a relatively new development for the Times, it's about 6 years old, other community newspapers have been publishing progress editions under many names and in many guises for many years.

The point of these issues to take a look at where we've been, and where we are going.

This year's edition was the result of many weeks of work by a number of hardworking people and the cooperation of many others. To them I say thanks.

There were plenty of sleepless nights, and events in my personal life that made this year's edition more difficult than others.

But at the end of all this work and worry, I believe we have a publication that we as a newspaper can be proud of, and something that will serve our readers well.

While any progress edition tries to be as inclusive as possible, there's no way we could spotlight and recognize everything we'd like. We'd still be working on it and losing sleep well into the summer if we tried.

But you will find interesting stories, some history you probably didn't know and a lot more.

There's a lot happening here in Thomasville, and a lot of developments coming in the future. Being a future oriented person, that piques my interest.

I hope it grabs your interest as well. Believe it or not, we've already kicked around a few ideas for next year's edition that I think you'll like. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Enjoy this year's progress edition.
