OBITUARIES Sandra Kaye Gill Sandra Kaye Gill, age 54, of Fordyce Ark., died Thursday, March 22, 2007. She was born June 13, 1952 in Paris, Tenn. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fordyce, Ark. She was Program Director of Senior Care at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sykes, and Willie Mac Freeman Sykes; three brothers, W. C., Charles and Ronnie Ray Sykes; one sister, Carolyn Jennings. She is survived by: husband, Doug Gill of Fordyce.; four sons, Mark Simon, Sr. and his wife, Marsha of Thomasville; Jason Gill and his wife, Kim of Mansfield, Ark.; Jeff Gill and his wife, Siria and T. J. Gill all of Fordyce, Ark.; one daughter, Brandi Gunn and her husband, Eric of Camden, Ark.; four brothers, John Sykes of Paris, Tenn.; Curtis Sykes of Canton, Ga.; Roger Sykes of Elgin, Ill. and Harold Sykes of Canton, Ga.; two sisters, Bobbie Crites of Paris, Tenn. and Fay Harbin of Canton, Ga.; and thirteen grandchildren, Mark Simon, Jr., Katie Simon, Brandon Simon, Alex Mason, Jordynn Simon, London Simon, Gracen Gill, Parker Gill, Alyssa English, Adam English, Synthia English, Blake Gunn and Brook Gunn. Funeral services were Monday, March 26, 2007 at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Fordyce, Ark., with Rev. Mark Simon, Sr. and Rev. Stacy Reed officiating. Burial at Stoney Point Cemetery. John Franklin Joiner John Franklin Joiner, age 81, of Thomasville, passed away Wednesday, march 21, 2007 at Mobile Infirmary. He was born September 3, 1925 in Auburndale, Fla. He was a former forester and truck driver. Graveside funeral services were held March 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy R. O'Bryant, and Dr. Robert Kirkland officiating. He is survived by: wife, Edwina Joiner of Thomasville; two sons, John Franklin Joiner, Jr. of Deridder, La.; Donald Joiner of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Pattie Wilson of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law, O. C. Wilson; sister-in-law, Katherine Whitworth, both of Thomasville; sister-in-law, Mildred Keel of Mobile; seven grandchildren, other great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bryce Jeffrey Larrimore Bryce Jeffrey Larrimore, age 94, passed away Tuesday night March 20, 2007 after a lengthy illness in a nursing home in Longwood, Fla. She was born in Lower Peachtree, the youngest of eleven children of Covington Rush Jeffrey and Lucy Irene Canterbury on May 8, 1912. She loved growing up in Peachtree where she had close family ties with the Stabler, Mayer, Kirk, Canterbury, Garrick and Hicks families. She married Johnny Grey Larrimore on June 10, 1927. They moved to Kimbrough and later to Dickinson, where they reared four children. In Dickinson, she owned and operated a General Merchandise Store. Her older son, Jeffrey G. Larrimore (Carolyn) of Brewton, preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by: one son, Dr. Lennox W. Larrimore (Judy) of Thomasville; two daughters, Patricia Crosby (Karl) and Catherine Ponsell (Dwight) both of Longwood, Fla.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She moved from Dickinson in 1968 to Tunnel Springs, with her husband. They lived there until his death in 1987. While living in Tunnel Springs, she served as the director of WMU. She moved to Brewton, to be near her oldest son, Jeffrey, where she maintained a home until late 2001. She was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church where she taught the Adult Sunday School Class. She is remembered not only as a loving Mother and Grandmother, but a trusted friend to many, as she served her fellow man with her knowledge of home remedies in the rural areas where she lived. She was honored as a Sunday School teacher having taught several generations, by both children and adults. She will be missed in many of the towns and churches where she served and loved many friends and family. Funeral services were held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville on March 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Michael E. King, Dr. Bryce Evans, and Dr. Cephas Phillips officiating. Burial was at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville. Active pallbearers were her grandsons: David Larrimore, Keith Larrimore, Lee Larrimore, Jason Larrimore, John Crosby, Phil Waite, Steve Waite and Alan Waite. Bennie Clyde Perry Bennie Clyde Perry, age 84, of Sweet Water passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Miss. She was born on September 19, 1922 in Aimwell. She was retired from Vanity Fair and a member of Aimwell Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at Aimwell Baptist Church on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lon Baxter and Rev. Morgan Flowers officiating. Burial was in Aimwell Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Perry. She is survived by: four daughters, Catherine (Bill) Taylor of Jackson; Mary (Mack) Rivers of Citronelle; Faye (Terah) Huckabee of Tuscaloosa; Donna (David) Radcliffe of Sweet Water; one sister, Irene J. Daniels of Nanafalia; four grandsons and two granddaughters. Pallbearers were: Wayne Perry, Kenny Boyles, Reagan Daniels, Jeff Mayton, Jerry Vice and Aubrey Morgan. O' Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Thomasville, directing. Nora Merle Smith Nora Merle Smith, age 88, of Grove Hill , passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital. She was born August 11, 1918 in Clarke County. She was a former seamstress with Soloman Brothers Manufacturing. Funeral services were held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Webb officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ella Rhee Wilkerson. She is survived by: three sons, Henry Gerald Pugh of Oakland, Calif.; Robert E. Pugh of Grove Hill; Bobby Smith of Birmingham; two daughters, Ruby Hudson of Leroy and Eunice Singleton of Jackson; one brother, Freddie Dixon of Thomasville; five sisters, Bonnie Pruitt of Bay Minette; Earline Duke of Grove Hill; Maggie Jarman of Tallassee; Bessie Sheffield of Saraland and Martha Kelly of Thomasville; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were: Carl Alford, Kent Alford, Kevin Alford, Craig Alford, Travis Overstreet and Mike Dungan.
