Worthwhile Club news

Worthwhile hostesses were Rosalee Overstreet, Banior Shehan, Ann Dozier and Grace Megginson (not pictured).
The Worthwhile Club met at 2:00 p.m., March 14 in the club room. Twenty one members and two guests, Dr. Adkison and Mrs. Carolyn Drinkard were welcomed by the President, Jane Eriksen. The tables were decorated in a St. Patrick's theme. Coffee, key lime pie and nuts were served. The meeting was called to order by the President. Judy Lewis led the group in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. The devotional was the Lord's Prayer led by Jane Eriksen.

Levinna Brown introduced Dr. Vic Adkison and Mrs. Carolyn Drinkard from Thomasville City Schools to present the program. Dr. Adkison spoke on Mission of Thomasville City Schools which encompasses the Board, Teachers, Students and Parents. The mission of Thomasville City Schools is to promote Lifelong Learning Educational Rules for Plotting and Measuring Progress are (1) Safety in Schools (2) Quality of Teachers (3) Challenging curriculum (4) Effective School Leaders.

Mrs. Drinkard spoke on District Accredation which would allow all three schools to engage in a continuous improvement process. Thomasville is the first school in Southwest Alabama to try this procedure she stated. On April 15-18, the SACS CASI Quality Assurance Team comes to Thomasville.

The reading of the minutes and treasurer's report were approved, other business followed. The reading of Club Collect was led by Ann Dozier.
