Bassmasters club holds tourney

Clarke County Bassmasters held its second local club tournament for 2007 on March 24, in Demopolis. Fishing proved to be a challenge for many club members for the day due to the vast amount of other clubs fishing in the area and the lower water levels as well. The day concluded with Gary Garrick in first place, Jonathon Downey in second, and Stevie Stephens in third place.

In addition to local club tournaments, Clarke County Bassmasters will also be holding an open buddy bass tournament on April 7. The open tournament details can be received by contacting Kayne Phillips. The club has a guaranteed first place prize of $1,000, will be providing lunch to all fisherman, and will also be distributing several door prizes from local sponsors.

Other upcoming events for Clarke County Bassmasters include casting for kids, open tournaments, and fishing trips. The next club meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 24, at 6 p.m. The meetings are at Alabama Southern Community College in Thomasville.
