Random notes on the news
      Iread recently that the Air Force doesn't plan to retire the B-52 bomber until 2037. That will be about 80 years since it first went into service, and surely the longest-lived airframe in the history of our military and possibly anyone else's for that matter.

      Like any cesspool, the more you stir it the smellier it gets. Take for example the probe into that cesspool called the two year college system in Alabama - it seems that each week the revelations of what has been going on at some of these institutions become more indefensible.

Dealing with night noises
      April 6, 1955 Our City Council would do well to adopt some kind of ordinance to stop unnecessary noises at night. Maybe the older a fellow gets the harder it is for him to sleep, which is all the more reason why there shouldn't be too much interference. Most everybody is either old or getting old.
