Sammie Jean Barkley
76, of Thomaston, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She was born July 7, 1930 in Thomaston. She was a homemaker.

Funeral services were held at O'Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating. Burial was at Thomaston Cemetery in Thomaston.

She is preceded in death by: husband, Eddie Lee Barkley; daughter, Mary Louise Barkley.

She is survived by: daughter, Martha (J. C.) Earnest of Berry; two sons, Michael (Cathy) Barkley and Gilbert (Kim) Barkley both of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister, Gerry Foxhall of Greer, S. C.; three grandsons, Tommy Barkley of Greenville, S. C.; Chris (Kearra) Barkley of Dallas, Texas; Joe Earnest of Berry; four granddaughters, Samantha (Shannon) Smith of University Place, Wash.; Amanda (Michael) Frost; Susan Earnest both of Berry; Ashley Barkley of Greenville, S.C.; two great grandchildren, Trent Smith of University Place, Wash.; Hannah Frost of Berry.

Active Pallbearers were: Chris Barkley, Joe Earnest, Michael Frost, Shannon Smith, Johnathan Lay and Tommy Barkley.
