The Thomasville Tigers won six more games this past week to extend their current win streak to 12 games and improve their season mark to 19-5. In the process they picked up another key Area win to move to 2-1 in Area One play.

The week's action got started on Tuesday, March 27, when the Tigers traveled to Chatom for a match up with the Washington County Bulldogs who had defeated the Tigers 12-2 in an error filled contest earlier in the year. This time around the Tigers emerged victorious defeating the freeswinging Bulldogs 9-8.

In the game Andrew Parten got the start on the mound for the Tigers and worked six innings to pick up the win. During his stint Parten gave up eight runs on eight hits, five walks and one hit batsman while striking out six. Justin Gilchrist closed things out shutting the Bulldogs down in their last inning to pick up a save.

On offense the Tigers picked up nine hits led by two hit performances from Reeves Bozeman, Alex Buford, and Jake Overstreet. Joining them with one hit each were Justin Gilchrist, J. B. LeNoir and Bradley Parnell. In the extra base hit category Overstreet hit his seventh homerun of the season while Buford had a triple and Bozeman a double. The pace picked up for the Tigers on Thursday, March 29, when they hosted the Choctaw County Tigers in a make up double-header that was rained out on March 1. Thursday's games began a three-day span in which the Tigers would play five games.

In game one of the twin bill Thomasville had little trouble with their opponents from across the Tombigbee River defeating them 21-1. Sean Skelton up from the JV on special assignment picked up the win on the mound for the Tigers allowing one run on two hits and three walks while striking out eight in five innings of work.

While Skelton and the Tiger defense were keeping the Choctaw County offense in check, the Thomasville bats went to work picking up 15 hits. Jamie Morgan led the Thomasville attack with four hits followed closely by Kenny Sanders with three. On their heels were; Walt Bedsole, Reeves Bozeman, and Dylan Digmon with two hits each while Josh Jackson and Mallan Sheffield each had one. Bozeman led the way in extra base hits with two doubles followed by Bedsole with one double. In the RBI chase Sanders was the leader with four followed by Bozeman and Morgan with three apiece. Bedsole and Digmon were next with two each while Jon Harrison and Jackson both contributed one.

The results were pretty much the same in the nightcap with Thomasville coming out on top 18-4. Reeves Bozeman started the game on the mound for Thomasville and was credited with the win after four innings in which he allowed three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out eight. In the area of extra base hits, Smith had a field day with a pair of doubles and a triple while Noble blasted his fourth homerun of the season, Etheredge had a triple and both Buford and Sheffield had a double. Over on offense Reeves Bozeman led the Tiger hit parade that collected 13 hits with a three hit day. Teammates Alex Buford, Steven Etheredge, and Andrew Parten joined him with two hits each while J. Thomasville kept the string going on Saturday, March 31, when they swept two games in their three team round robin double header with Andalusia and Demopolis being played in Thomasville. The Tigers opened the day against the Bulldogs from Andalusia and avenged an early season loss to the Bulldogs with a 13-3 win.

Andrew Parten, starting on the mound for Thomasville, picked up his second win of the week allowing the Bulldogs three runs on three hits, three walks, and one hit batsman while striking out nine in five innings. With the win he improved his season record to 3-1.

At the plate Paul Noble and Jake Overstreet led the Tigers with three hits each followed by J. B. LeNoir and Justin Smith with two apiece. Joining them with one hit were teammates Reeves Bozeman, Steven Etheredge, Bradley Parnell, and Andrew Parten. Parnell had the only extra base hit in the fourteen hit attack with a double. In the RBI category Noble was the leader with four followed by LeNoir, Overstreet, and Parten with two and Parnell with one.

The perfect end to a perfect week came in the final game of the day when Thomasville defeated Demopolis 20-8. Things didn't appear to be getting off to a good start with the visiting Tigers jumping on top 2- 0 in the top of the first, but Thomasville responded with nine in the bottom half of the inning to take charge of the game.

Paul Noble who started on the mound for Thomasville picked up the win to improve his season record to 6 -1. In 4 1/3 innings Noble allowed six runs on four hits, three walks and two hit batters while striking out four. Alex Buford came in for the final 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on two hits and two walks before retiring the side.

Joining him with two hits each were teammates Reeves Bozeman, Alex Buford, Bradley Parnell, Kenny Sanders and Justin Smith while Steven Etheredge, J. B. LeNoir and Paul Noble each added one hit. Overstreet also led the charge in extra base hits with a pair of doubles and his ninth homerun of the season. Parnell and Sanders made it a three homerun game for the Tigers with Parnell getting his fourth and Sanders his first. Adding doubles to the list were Bozeman, Buford and Etheredge. In the RBI category Overstreet was once again the leader picking up five. Bozeman and Parnell were next with three each followed by Buford and Sanders with two apiece. Rounding things out with one RBI were; Etheredge, LeNoir, Noble, and Smith.

On the agenda next for the Tigers are home games with Monroe County and W. S. Neal. Thursday, April 5, Monroe County comes to Thomasville for a big area game for both teams. Then on Friday, April 6, the W. S. Neal Blue Eagles will come calling. Both games will be the second game of the day immediately following a junior varsity game.
