THS golf team downs Monroe and Excel

The Thomasville High School Golf team defeated teams from Excel and Monroe County in a nine hole match played at Pineview Country Club on Monday, April 2. Thomasville posted a team score of 186 in the match while Monroe County finished at 198 and Excel at 217. Thomasville's Matt Moore was the medalist in the match shooting a 41. Two of his teammates, Austin Mason and Jamie Vick both shot 47 which meant that three of the top five scores on the day were recorded by Thomasville golfers.

The Tigers followed that first place finish up with a second in a four team nine hole match played in Chatom on Wednesday, April 4. The Washington County team finished first in that match with a 185 followed by Thomasville with a 205, Excel with a 213 and Monroe County with a 218.

The play of the Tigers in those two matches moved their overall record this season to 8-2 as they prepared for a four team match in Citronelle on Monday, April 9 that had teams from Citronelle, Satsuma, and Washington County slated to play against the Tigers and a head to head match with Washington County on Thursday, April 12 in Chatom on the Deerfield Course.
