Pat on the back for youth workers
The fields are in great condition, and despite some weather issues, the youth baseball and softball season is in full swing with few hiccups.

That's thanks to the hard work of city employees and volunteers alike, working together to create a great experience for the youth of our city.

Ken Hamilton and Dena LeNoir are easy to single out for their contributions and hard work. Organizing such a large activity is no easy task. It takes months of planning and looking after lots of details.

But they are just two people in a larger organization that it takes to pull this off year after year.

From the coaches who volunteer to the workers at the concession stands to the businesses that sponsor the teams (including a nice bonus this year from Mark Wise who will buy a slice of pizza or a hamburger for anyone who hits a homerun), it's a community project that reflects what a small town can do when it sets its sights high and pulls together as a team.

We applaud everyone who pulls together in the spirit of community to put this program on year after year.
