Ericka Ezell crowned Miss Alabama Southern
Other finalists were: 1st runner up, Heather Sellers, of Thomasville; and 2nd runnerup, Britney Morgan, of Pine Hill. Miss Sellers was also chosen as Miss Congeniality. Miss Ezell is currently a sophomore at Alabama Southern Community College. Upon graduating from Alabama Southern, Miss Ezell plans to transfer to a university to pursue degrees in English and biology. Miss Ezell is a member of the Alabama Southern Student Leadership Association, Student Support Services, SIFE, the Leadership Medallion Program and the Diamond Dolls. Contests participate in several categories of the competition, including casual wear, talent, formal wear, interview, and question and answer sessions. The objective of the Miss Alabama Southern Competition is to bring quality female students together from all five of our campuses to compete for the highly respectful title. "In this competition, we are looking for someone who expresses the same qualities and goals of our college," said Amy Woolfolk, coordinator of the pageant.
In order to be eligible to participate in the competition a contestant must fulfill the following requirements: full-time student, minimum 2.5 cumulative G.P.A., two recommendations from faculty and personal references and complete an interview process.
