The Gates Family Reunion

Green Family Reunion

The descendants of John S. Green 1805-1865 and Sarah Ann Flewellen 1822-1888 will hold their annual reunion of related families at Roland Cooper State Park near Camden, at 11:30 a.m. on May 5. Horse Show sponsored by the Clarke County Mounted Sheriff's Posse

There will be a Horse Show Saturday, April 28 at the arena on Allen Road. Gate time is 6:00 p.m. The show is sponsored by the Clarke County Mounted Sheriff's Posse. Everyone is invited.

The Demopolis Singers to perform

The Demopolis Singers will perform their Broadway review "It's Showtime!" at the Demopolis High School Auditorium on Sunday, May 6 at 2:30 p.m. and Monday, May 7 at 7:30 p.m. Also featured will be solos from "Regina," the Broadway opera based on Lillian Hellman's play "The Little Foxes." The concerts are free to the public and donations are very much appreciated.

South Marengo Fire and Rescue Squad to hold Fish Fry

South Marengo Fire and Rescue Squad will have a Fish Fry Saturday, May 5 at the South Marengo Squad Hall in Coxheath on Hwy 10 at the 36- mile marker. The cost will be $7.00 a plate. "Photography In Your Own Backyard" Contest and Exhibit

"Photography In Your Own Backyard" contest and exhibit, featuring historical sites in Clarke County, opening reception will be Friday, April 27 5:00 p.m. til 7:00 p.m. at the Clarke County Museum and Helm's House. he exhibit will also be open Saturday, April 28, 2:00 p.m. til 4:00 p.m. for viewing and Sunday, April 29, 2:00 p.m. til 4:00 p.m. at which time winners will be announced.

17th Annual Nuthin' New Car Show Saturday, May 5

The 17th Annual Nuthin' New Car Show will be Saturday, May 5 in the Thomasville Plaza on Hwy. 43.. Registration will be from 8:00 a.m. - 12 noon, judging begins at 12 noon. For more information call Danny Schroeder at 334-295-0508 or Mike Wilson at 334-636-5873.

VFW Post 5106 and Ladies Auxillary to host pot-luck meal for monthly meeting

VFW Post 5106 and Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a pot-luck meal for our regular monthly meeting on Monday night April 30.. The meal will be served at 6:00 p.m. Post meeting to begin at 7:00 p.m. All members are invited out for meal and meeting.

VFW Post 5106 to hold a Fish Fry

VFW post 5106 will have a Fish Fry on May 4. Fist will be ready to pickup at 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Plates will be fish, coleslaw, baked beans, and hush puppies for $6.00 each.

Surginer Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser and singing

Surginer Volunteer Fire Department will be selling Thompson's Chopped BBQ plates on Saturday, May 5 10:00 a.m. until. Plates will be $7.00 or $7.00 per pound. There will be a singing featuring: Gospel Jubilee, Glory Road Quartet, Matt Akridge, Gene Etheredge and Friends, and others. And the "Stuff A Friend" will be back for the children. Please bring lawn chairs. Thank you for supporting the SVFD.

NAACP to have meeting April 26

The Clarke County NAACP will meet Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. All executive board and other members are asked to attend.

Thomasville High School Art Exhibit

Everyone is invited to attend the Thomasville High School Art Exhibit Thursday, May 3 at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Thomasville Middle School Gymnasium.

Chip Cooper to appear at Historical Society Meeting

The Clarke County Historical Society will meet Sunday, April 29 at 2:30 p.m. at the Clarke County Museum. Noted photographer, Chip Cooper will speak at the meeting. Mr. Cooper is the Director of Photography at the University of Alabama and also a freelance photographer. The public is invited to the meeting.

Southwest Alabama Medical Center to hold Jewelry Sale

Masquerade, Experience the Frenzy!! A $5.00 Jewelry Sale will be held Monday, April 30 and Tuesday, May 1 from 7:00 a.m. til 6:00 p.m. at the Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Thomasville.

Patrick-Jones-Carstarphen Family Reunion
